Families do not just want care.
They want to understand it.

As an experienced NCS or postpartum doula, you know how to do the work. But when parents ask why sleep matters so much for their baby's brain, or why a preemie needs to be watched so closely, a confident answer depends on knowing the science behind it.

The work keeps getting more demanding, too. Higher-order multiples, preemies, babies with feeding challenges, and high-profile families with high expectations. And the business side is changing fast.

Advanced looks intensively at these areas, so you can explain the reasons behind your care and keep up as the field changes.

What changes for you

After the course,
you can:

Explain brain development to parents

Show families how sleep, nutrition and environment affect newborn brain development, in words they understand.

Refine your sleep conditioning

Add advanced sleep conditioning techniques to the methods you already use.

Feed babies with extra needs

Understand the science behind breastmilk, formula and alternatives, and work with babies with cleft palate, feeding tubes and other specialty devices.

Care for preemies and multiples

Work with premature babies, including special needs car seat use, and with twins, triplets and more.

Serve high-profile families

Learn what high-profile and high net worth clients are really looking for.

Work through difficulties in the NCS world and put better business practices in place.

Is this course right for you?

This course is for you if

  • You are an experienced NCS or postpartum doula
  • You have completed approved NCS or postpartum doula training, such as Foundational, or have 3 years of equivalent, documentable experience
  • You want to work with preemies, multiples or high-profile families
  • You want to explain the why behind your care, not just the how

Choose another route if

  • You are new to newborn care work. Start with a core course, Foundational or Elevate.
  • You want Foundational and Advanced both. The bundle costs less than buying them one at a time.
  • You want one focused topic, such as infant sleep from birth to 6 months. A specialty course is a better fit.

Prior approved NCS or postpartum doula training, or 3 years of equivalent, documentable experience. Experience-based entry is at the instructor's discretion.

How is Advanced different from Foundational and Elevate?

Foundational and Elevate are core courses, and you choose one of them. Advanced is a separate course for experienced professionals. It covers further topics, such as infant brain development, higher-order multiples, high-profile clients and better business practices.

I took Elevate. Can I take Advanced?

Advanced asks for prior approved NCS or postpartum doula training. Elevate and Advanced are also sold together as a bundle for $1,997. If you are not sure your training qualifies, ask the education team before you buy.

Can I buy Advanced with Foundational?

Yes. Foundational and Advanced together cost $1,497, compared with $1,894 when you buy them separately.

How is the course delivered?

Online, in 29 lessons with 13.5 hours of video. It includes the Advanced Training Weekend Program workbook and badges you can download.

Is this medical training?

No. Newborn Care Specialist work is non-medical. Advanced deepens your understanding of the science behind newborn care, so you can explain it to families and work within your role.
